Carley Saravia brings many years of experience in education and counseling to her position as a Scholar Advisor. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Minnesota, and a graduate degree in Secondary Language Arts Education from Northern Arizona University. She began her career as a Teacher in both San Diego and Minneapolis, but found her true calling in providing educational counseling to unsupported and marginalized students when she worked with homeless students at Project Solo – Freeport West in Minneapolis as the Education and Career Coordinator. She continued her education and completed her Master’s in School Counseling at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls because she is passionate about helping students identify educational and career goals and supporting them in overcoming obstacles to achieving those goals.

Most recently, she continued the work of supporting students as both a Teacher and School Counselor at Paladin Career and Technical High School where she coordinated the College and Career Center. Carley understands the complex and challenging nature of navigating the college experience and is honored to provide holistic support to Wallin Scholars. Carley also enjoys reading, creative writing, camping, exploring and spending time with her family.
